Solarfun(SOLF) Signs Korean Wafer Deal

Nasdaq-listed Solarfun (SOLF) a manufacturer of both photovoltaic (PV) cells and PV modules in China, today announced signing of three contracts with a major Korean conglomerate for sale and delivery of wafers totaling $230 million over a seven year period. Delivery will begin in 2008.

This contract announcement continues the trend of solar cell manufactures working to get their hands on red-hot solar wafers and silicon used to produce their end-product.

Todays news comes on a day when solar stocks saw losses while oil prices dropped by almost by $3.00 to $95.09
